The following is a response from my European friends when asked for 'Build Quantities verification's'.
I can tell you that they made 636 Targa's in 1977. This information I got from the Archiv of Porsche. But why is the number 636 and not 646? This is because they started production with number 10 and not 1. They spared the first 10 numbers. This was the explanation of the Porsche Archiv in Stuttgart.
